Food business and mobile food traders

Mobile traders, i.e. ice-cream vehicles currently or proposing to operate within Sandwell Borough need to obtain relevant consent.

This ‘consent’ allows trading in any street within the Borough of Sandwell EXCEPT for "prohibited streets" and streets and places currently designated for the purposes of Licensed Street Traders.

Mobile trader consents are not valid within the perimeter of any council park, recreation ground or open space.

The Consent is payable on an annual basis and, as of April 2024, costs £615 per vehicle, per year.

Traders must comply fully with the "Consent Conditions" set out.

If you require further information and for online registration, you can use our on-line form.
