QR code scam warning

Bogus QR code stickers have been found in our car parks that send users to a fraudulent cloned website which requests credit card details and other personal data. Do not scan any QR codes or barcodes you see on parking machines or signage.

To pay for parking online, download the genuine PaybyPhone (PBP) parking app directly onto your phone or pay by cash where available. Be careful when paying online and make sure you are using the genuine app.

Parking for Christmas shopping in Sandwell

Shoppers will be able to park for free at Sandwell Council’s town centre car parks on all Saturdays in December.

Time limits on short stay car parks still apply. Sunday parking is already free in the council’s town centre car parks.

Free parking does not include Sandwell Valley car parks, privately-run car parks and on-street parking bays.

Councillor Keith Allcock, Cabinet Member for Environment and Highways, said: “This will support town centre shopping during December, which is the most important trading month of the year. We encourage everyone to support our local shops and businesses.”

The Saturdays in December are 6, 13, 20 and 27 December.
