A big thank you to everyone who has donated coats, scarves, hats and gloves in our winter coat appeal.
If you or someone you know needs a clean, good condition winter coat, they can be collected FOR FREE from Sandwell Libraries. Each library may have varied stock and sizes but you are welcome to take what you need with no questions asked.
Libraries are still accepting donations if you have any good-quality, clean items you wish to donate for others.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What types of coats are you collecting?
Warm winter coats for all ages groups: i.e. baby, and children through to adult sizes. We are also collecting fleeces, waterproofs, baby cot sleeping bags, snow suits for babies and young children, pram footmuffs, hats, scarves and gloves. We ask that all coats be clean, in good condition and with a functioning zip.
Do you accept hats, scarves and gloves?
Yes. They must be clean and in good condition and the gloves should be folded into pairs.
What coats will be available to collect?
Donations have kindly been made by Sandwell residents across winter. This means that each library will have different amounts of stock and types of coats for you to take away. You may wish to call ahead before you travel to check your local library has availability as demand may be high.
