We are able to offer work experience placements within our multi-disciplinary Design Team based at Sandwell Council House in Oldbury.
Applications are open from November 1st 2024 until December 31st 2024.
Work experience with the multi-disciplinary Design team is a great insight into the world of work. It will give students valuable experience of the award-winning design services within Sandwell Council.
Work experience role (school placement): Design Assistant
During your work experience placement as a Design Assistant, you would assist with design work carried out by Urban Design and Building Services (UDBS).
During the week students will experience an insight and gain knowledge in a wide variety of tasks carried out by the following teams:
- Architects
- Quantity Surveyors
- Structural Engineers
- Mechanical & Electrical Engineers
- Energy & Climate Change
- Building Surveyors
About you
To be ideal for this placement, you should be:
- Able to follow instructions and work unassisted
- Computer literate
- Interested in design / graphics and technology
- Willing to ask for help when needed
- Familiar with what a multi-disciplinary design / construction practice does, and have an understanding of the roles within it
- Willing to be an ambassador for UDBS.
