Work has now been completed to replace the ageing incoming electrical mains supply and equipment which serves the council building.
The work was carried out over a weekend with a shutdown of the offices at 5.00pm on a Friday evening and completion by 6.00pm on the following Sunday, allowing staff to occupy the building from 7.00am on Monday morning as usual.
Generators were used as a standby power supply, to avoid the need to power down and restart all the servers and computer equipment which serves the council offices, libraries and other external sources.
The replacement work was very successful with no reports of malfunctioning equipment and with staff able to commence their work upon arrival to the building.
