A housing development off Reservoir Road in Rowley Regis has created 27 new council houses for Sandwell – a mixture of two- and four-bedroom properties.
The houses are now fully occupied and they form a new road: Tommy Smart Close. This is named after the Blackheath-born fullback footballer Thomas Smart who played schools football in Rowley Regis and went on to make five appearances for England at international level. Councillor Danny Millard, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Highways, suggested the name.
Urban Design and Building Services (UDBS) is proud to have undertaken the design of the housing. We also worked on the project management alongside Sandwell Council’s Housing Partnerships Team.
Sandwell Council funded this scheme, with support from Homes England – the public organisation funding new affordable housing. Seddon Construction Ltd was the building contractor.
