New technology to help Frontline Staff
We are excited to announce an 8 week pilot project aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of new digital tools to enhance our services. This pilot will help us understand how these tools can improve our interactions and support for our users.
Pilot program overview
Adult Social Care is launching a new pilot program on Monday 17 February. Running for up to eight weeks, it aims to improve the services we provide to our community by giving our frontline staff the latest technological tools.
The Magic Notes tool
At the heart of this program is Magic Notes, an innovative tool designed to simplify paperwork. This means our frontline staff, such as social workers and occupational therapists, can spend less time on administrative tasks and more time supporting our residents. They’ll be able to listen and focus on the person, rather than spending time taking detailed notes, which will enable our staff to carry out higher-quality visits.
Teams involved
The pilot will be tested across various teams in Adult Social Care, including:
- Therapy Teams (Prevention Assessors and Occupational Therapists)
- Joint Equipment Stores (Equipment Technicians)
- Social Care Professionals in locality teams
- Mental Health Teams
- Learning Disabilities Teams
- Young Adults Teams
By using Magic Notes, we hope to reduce the administrative burden on our social care professionals, allowing them to focus on providing face-to-face support that makes a real difference in people's lives.
Why this matters
Under the Care Act 2014, councils must promote individual well-being and offer person-centred support. The new tool will help us meet these goals by making our staff's work more efficient and satisfying.
Key points:
- Pilot duration: The project will run for eight weeks.
- Evaluation: We will thoroughly assess the pilot to determine its effectiveness and potential for long-term integration into our everyday work.
- Feedback: Your feedback is crucial. It will help us refine the new technologies to better meet your needs.
- Future plans: Based on the evaluation results, we will decide on the long-term use of these tools to ensure they provide the best possible support.
Our commitment
Sandwell Council is committed to continuous improvement. We will gather feedback from our teams during the pilot to ensure Magic Notes is practical and beneficial. We will also gather feedback from residents who are part of the pilot.
This approach helps us find and refine new technologies that meet the needs of both our staff and residents.
Together, we can use technology to improve our services and make a positive impact on our community. We appreciate your participation and look forward to your valuable input.
