Our offices are closed between Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24 December) and Tuesday 30 December. Our offices are open on Wednesday 31 December, closed for New Year's Day on Thursday 1 January, and we re-open again on Friday 2 January.

Bin collections

There are changes to some bin collections due to the Christmas and New Year period.

If the bins or bags in your street are not collected, please leave them out at the kerbside and we'll get to them as soon as possible. You can check for updates on bin collections.

If you have extra rubbish, you can book a slot and take it to the tip at Shidas Lane - open every day 8am - 4pm except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Chemists and medical help over the Christmas and New Year period

People who need medical help that isn’t an emergency should contact NHS 111 in the first instance by visiting the NHS 111 website or by calling 111.

NHS 111 can help direct people to the most appropriate local health service if they aren’t sure where to go – this could include an out of hours GP, a pharmacy, a local NHS walk-in centre, or a hospital accident & emergency (A&E) department.
