Summary of services
The service can help people with a range of issues. These include:Self-image and identity issuesBereavementTrauma (though not post-traumatic stress disorder) Coping with injury or illness Life crisesLoss of employment, health, a relationship, and so onMild to moderate depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and anger problems Family issues and sexual relationship issues.Counselling gives someone a safe space to discuss and explore their concerns and feelings. This can help someone begin to understand their difficulties better and work towards resolving some of them. Sessions are 45 minutes to one hour long. They usually take place at the same time each week, for an average of six weeks. Sessions are confidential and take place in a GP setting or in other community venues.
