Summary of services
A purpose built unit for up to six people. It is fully wheelchair accessible and all rooms are single with on-suite facilities which have remote controlled H-hoists so that even the most severely disabled people can manage their own personal care needs. The unit also benefits from the provision of wheelchair accessible transport which facilitates the day care and social activity programmes. As a short-term care unit Alsop House aims to compliment people's existing lifestyle and where possible arrangements are made for them to attend their normal employment, family and leisure activities.
The unit's objective is to maintain and develop people's independence during their stay. Care is provided by a small staff team of highly motivated and well-qualified staff. Although the staff work to a clearly defined care plan they are also keen to work with individual service user on a daily basis to address their needs and desires. Service users, either as individuals or collectively, devise the weekly activity programme, menu and personal care schedule.
