Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
The Pension Scheme is an important part of your employment package. How much it costs you depends on how much you're paid, but it will be between 5.5% and 7.5% of your pay.
Flexible Working (Flexi Time Scheme)
Flexible working gives employees the opportunity to achieve a better balance between work and other commitments - often by making small changes to working patterns and hours. Managers will make every effort to appreciate an employee's needs such as family responsibilities, work and caring responsibilities and be flexible as possible to try and accommodate their required working hours.
Smart Working
Smart Working is a transformational tool to allow organisations to work in a more agile way, by eliminating barriers to allow employees to work more efficiently. Smart Working empowers employees to work with maximum flexibility and minimum constraints - to optimise performance and to deliver best value and customer service. It is based on the concept that work is an activity we do, rather than a place we go.
Car Parking
Sandwell Council employees can make savings each year on the costs of their parking at work by signing up to a Scheme which provides national insurance-free benefits.
Cycle to Work Scheme
Huge savings on bicycle and safety equipment up to the value of £2000 and assistance to spread the cost across 12 months.
