Sandwell Council has a dedicated resourcing team who oversee the recruitment and pre-employment checks process. All offers of employment are conditional on receiving satisfactory pre-employment checks.
Pre-employment checks are an important part of the recruitment process and must be undertaken before a successful candidate is confirmed in their new role and we reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any stage if the criteria relating to the conditional offer is not satisfactory.
Pre-employment checks help the council to make safe recruitment decisions and comply with legislation. We will verify candidates' suitability to carry out the role and ensure they have the legal right to work in the UK and are suitably qualified prior to appointment.
