Anyone who needs a safe and warm place for a cuppa and a chat is being urged to use one of Sandwell’s Warm Spaces.

Sandwell Council has set up a network of Warm Spaces at all of its libraries and some leisure and community centres. Residents can also find safe and warm places at many voluntary and community buildings across Sandwell.

And anybody who isn’t sure how to locate their nearest Warm Space – you can now find your nearest Warm Space through the council’s MySandwell portal. There’s also another map available showing all of the community Warm Spaces being run by organisations such as faith groups, community organisations and at other buildings.

For details and to find a Warm Space in Sandwell, log into your MySandwell account or visit the Warm Spaces webpage

Leader of Sandwell Council Councillor Kerrie Carmichael said: “We’ve already seen more than 4,000 people seek information on our website about Warm Spaces, and more than 12,000 people have looked for support and advice on our Supporting Sandwell information hub since we set it up less than six weeks ago.

“We’re also sending Cost of Living advice to people’s phones using WhatsApp.

“We’re doing everything we can to reach people with information to help them cope with the increases we’re all seeing in energy, food and other bills.

“If you need help you are not alone – lots of people are seeking support and information. I’d urge you to check out our Supporting Sandwell information hub and visit a Warm Space if you need to.”
