Sandwell’s Youth Service are getting their brand-new Youth Bus ready to tour around Sandwell’s parks this summer.
The Youth Bus offers young people activities featuring the latest technology including a mini recording studio, a sensory area, a virtual reality offer, smart TVs and gaming consoles.
Young people, age 11 to 19 (up to 25 for young people with SEND) can come along to any of the sessions around Sandwell during the summer holiday:
- Wednesday 24 July - 4pm – 8pm Brunswick Park, Wednesbury
- Wednesday 31 July - 4pm – 8pm Redhouse Park, Great Barr
- Wednesday 7 August - 4pm – 8pm, Victoria Park, Smethwick
- Wednesday 14 August - 4pm – 8pm, Lion Farm Playing Fields, Oldbury
- Wednesday 21 August - 4pm – 8pm, Britannia Park, Rowley Regis
- Wednesday 28 August - 4pm – 8pm, Victoria Park, Tipton
Councillor Jalal Uddin, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: “The Youth Bus is a real asset for our youth provision in Sandwell. I urge all young people to come along and experience all the amazing activities on-board during the school holidays.
“The Youth Bus is part of our commitment to improve the lives of children and young people to allow them to grow well in Sandwell and achieve their full potential.”
This is the first of two Youth Buses to serve as mobile youth provision for young people in Sandwell. The second bus is expected to be delivered later this year.
