Article 4 Direction data
This dataset shows the location of Sandwell's three Article 4 Directions. Article 4 Directions are used to remove permitted development rights in specific places. Where an Article 4 Direction is in place, planning permission is needed for certain types of development that might usually be permitted automatically elsewhere (such as a small building extension).

Conservation Area data
This dataset shows the location of Sandwell's nine Conservation Areas. Planning permission is required within conservation areas for works to alter or demolish a building. In addition, six weeks notice must be given to the council prior to any works being carried out to trees.
