Highway Improvement Lines protect land required for future highway schemes
There are seven highway improvement projects that are covered by highway improvement lines. These are;
- A4100 Lower High Street/Forge Lane/Woods Lane Junction Improvement, Cradley Heath
- A4123 Birchley Island/M5 Junction 2 Improvement, Oldbury
- Cornwall Road/Foundry Lane/Rabone Lane/Booth Street Junction Improvement Phase II, Smethwick
- Greets Green Road/Ryders Green Road Junction Improvement, West Bromwich
- Lower Church Lane Improvement, Tipton
- Oldbury Road/Albion Road Junction Improvement, West Bromwich
- Cranford Street, Smethwick
In addition, there are powers in place to construct the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill extension to Midland Metro.
The location of each of these schemes is included on the Proposals Map that forms part of the Sandwell Site Allocations and Delivery Development Plan Document and in the West Bromwich Area Action Plan.
