On the 26 July 2011, Sandwell Council adopted the Windmill Eye Neighbourhood Plan Supplementary Planning Doucment.
The Windmill Eye Neighbourhood Plan SPD is a master plan that sets out proposals which aim to assist in regenerating this particular area of Smethwick. In particular, it looks at how the housing choice and quality can be improved, where intervention is required and at what level.
It is also looking at other issues such as the quality and access to open space, education and community facilities as well as improving easy access to services and the wider area. Consultation on the draft document took place from 1 November 2010 to 13 December 2010.
