Join the library
Please note: if you are an existing library member, you do not need to join online to use this website. All you need to do is visit a library and create a PIN (4 numbers).
Membership of the library service is free to anyone. You may join the library online by clicking on the button below after you have read and accepted the membership conditions. This will enable you to use our online services, such as borrowing e-books or reading e-magazines. If you wish to borrow books or reserve books, please visit your nearest library where our staff will change your online membership into a full membership. You will need to show proof of name and address, and we will give you a library card that will enable you to access our full range of services.

You right to privacy
Sandwell Libraries and Archives collects personal data about our customers to enable us to run our service. The types of data we collect include name, address, contact details (email address, phone numbers), date of birth, and gender. This is gathered with your consent when you join the library and is only used for library service purposes. We also hold details of how you have used our services, such as the items you have borrowed, or if you have used a computer. We will keep your data only for the duration of your library membership, unless there is a reason to keep it for longer; for example, if you haven't returned all of the items you have borrowed from us. Membership lasts for three years but can be renewed when it is expiring. At this point we will check that the details we hold about you are still correct. A full version of our privacy policy is available, which also explains your rights under the Data Protection Act.
