Residents' Parking Permits
Residents' parking permits can now be purchased online
MiPermit provide the e-permit system for car park and residential permits. If you are renewing your residents' or visitors' parking permit, you can do this via the MiPermit website.

The MiPermit app can also be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices. You are not able to purchase a permit using the app. This can be done using the internet tab on a phone, tablet, PC or laptop via the MiPermit website.
Apply for or renew a residents' parking permit
If you live or work within a residents' parking scheme, you now apply online for your permit.
What do I need to provide to apply for a permit or voucher?
You will need to provide types of evidence for a Residents permit. If you cannot provide these you will not be able to apply for the permit.
Proof of Vehicle
- Log Book
- Current Insurance Schedule
- Sales Invoice (will only be accepted if purchased within 3 months)
- Lease Agreement
- Company letterheaded document confirming vehicle is kept at address
Proof of Residency – this must confirm the applicants name
- Current Council Tax bill
- Valid Driving Licence
- Utility bill dated within last 3 months

How do you activate vouchers?
Using Visitor Permits via SMS
You can also use SMS to activate visitor permits if your account has your mobile phone number associated with it.
You can send an SMS (text message) to 61600 with the following:
VISITOR A123BCD 2hours
This will allow your visitor in vehicle A123BCD park in your zone for 2 hours.
Some parking operators visitor permits do not require a duration, please see your parking operators MiPermit portal information pages for details.
You can also call to have a visitor booked in, this could be that you call MiPermit customer services.

How can I get a residents' parking scheme set up in my area?
If parking in your road or surrounding area has become a problem due to people who don't live there parking for long periods of time, please visit .
The Council will only approve a scheme where:
· It can be designed to address the parking issues,
· The majority of Residents are in favor of its introduction,
· Residents are prepared to pay for permits,
· The majority of households do not have off street parking,
· Lack of parking space is not due to the number of vehicles belonging to residents,
· Residents accept that they may only be entitled to one permit per household.
· Residents accept that the scheme will not reserve or guarantee a parking space and,
· Parking spaces may not be available within the scheme at all times.
