Social work opportunities

We are looking to recruit Social Workers for various teams within Adult Social Care.

Hear from Ben who is currently a social work apprentice.

We have great opportunities for individuals who are flexible, innovative, and have a proven track record of partnership working with a can-do approach. If you can work under pressure and have a great attention to detail then we would like to hear from you.

We use strengths and asset-based approaches in our practice; how individuals can be supported by the strengths they have in themselves, their network of support from family, friends and their local communities. Where care and support is required we work to ensure that this reflects the individual’s assessed needs and strengths while promoting their independence, choice and control.

We encourage positive risk taking with a ‘home first and why not today’ philosophy.

We are looking for committed and hardworking qualified Social Workers with Adult Social Work who have experience of working with older people, people with physical disabilities and sensory impairments, as well as people with mental health issues.

You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation including the Care Act 2014, Safeguarding, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Community DOLS/LPS.

You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults and their carers with an asset-based and strength-based approach to support them to achieve their outcomes within the wider community.

You will need to be confident in undertaking safeguarding investigations, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, carrying out outcome focused assessments, and with support planning to meet their care and support needs.

You must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and with our partner agencies to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and their carers.

You will be given an induction, appropriate training opportunities and regular supervision with an experienced manager. You will be working in a friendly environment, with a skilled, diverse and supportive team.

You must have a degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent.
We offer the Golden Hello Scheme, a payment of £1,000 (pro-rata if part time) which will be applied to newly recruited Social Workers in Sandwell ASC.
