Regular Activities
Soft Play Sunday: First Sunday of every month starting Sunday 3 May 11:30am-1.30pm
Bring your little ones for a self-led playtime in our classrooms with our soft play. Suitable for babies and toddlers. A lovely safe space and a perfect place to meet other parents. House, gardens and tea room open from 11pm. Suitable for ages 0-5. Free Entry.
Craft Club: Every Wednesday 10:00-12.30pm (excluding school half terms and holidays). Bring your knitting and crochet projects or anything else you may be working on! We will have jigsaws and games available and throughout the coming months in some of the sessions we will explore different natural arts and activities to help with feelings of calmness and creativity! Open to all ages, everyone welcome. £1.00. No need to book.
Little Acorns Breastfeeding Network infant feeding drop-in support session. Every Wednesday 12.30pm – 2pm (excluding half terms). Drop-in support group creating a free, safe space for parents to meet other parents, ask questions and access evidence-based information on all aspects of breastfeeding/chest feeding and infant feeding for babies of all ages. Ideal For All Coffee Mornings: Every Wednesday 11:00-1:00pm. Ideal For All support the independence of disabled people living in Sandwell. These groups are an opportunity to have some social time with others in a similar situation to yourself. We run a coffee morning every week at Oak House for anyone who would like to catch up with old friends and make new ones. A friendly atmosphere where you will be welcomed with tea/coffee, biscuits and a smile. Free Entry.

History Helpers at Oak House Museum 21-29 July
Dig deep into the forgotten stories of the past globe through trails, quizzes and crafts during our regular museum opening hours

Archaeology Week: Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 July 11am-3:00pm
Over two days Wolverhampton Archaeology we will be excavating at our 17th
century house, looking for clues that will help us understand the history of the property.
Members of the public, including accompanied youngsters, will be encouraged to help dig and sieve the spoil and follow the artefacts through a washing and identification process.
The house will be open and crafts, trails and other activities available.
Free Entry - some activities from 50p.
Palaeontology Play: Tuesday 28 July 11am-3pm
Delve into the prehistoric past and get hands-on with dino themed activities and make your own fossils. Can you dig out our giant fossil in Oak House grounds? Go Play will also be here with outdoor activities! Suitable for all ages. Free entry, a small charge for some activities.
Dino Discovery Day: Wednesday 29 July 1pm-4pm
Meet Pete the Dinosaur as he walks (and roars!) around the grounds of Oak House and get hands-on with fossil making, dig up the giant fossil in our excavation pit, and discover modern day dinosaurs still walking and flying amongst us.

Nature inspired arty fun. Hipkiss and Graney Grand Project Launch Day. Sunday 2 August 11am-2pm. Join local visual arts duo Hipkiss and Graney for the launch of this wonderful nature inspired project exploring seasonal traditions and ecologies. Find out more about the project and get hands on making masks and helping to decorate what will become the ‘performance tent’. Look out for more about this project taking place at both Oak House and Bromwich Hall across the rest of the year. Suitable for all ages. Free drop in event, no need to book.

Meet the mighty Rat! Tuesday 4 August, 11am-3pm
Rats live almost everywhere on Earth, making them true world travellers. You’ll meet these clever, curious animals who have adapted to life in forests, farms, cities, and even remote islands. They’re one of the few animals that truly connect the whole globe.
Oak House Animal Room: Wednesday 5 August, 11am-3pm
Have you missed the Oak House tiger on your latest visits? He’s back in our cabinet of animals which were part of the displays when Oak House first opened as a museum over 125 years ago! Come along to see the tiger and his other animal friends in the animal room. Book on when you arrive.
Wild Actors: Tuesday 11 August, 11am-3pm. Furry, crawly, feathery and scaly friends from all over the globe will all be here for you to meet from Wild Actors. Go Play will also be joining us with outdoor activities
