Oak House is now open again after conservation building work

Wellbeing Workshops from March 5. Every Tuesday 12.30pm except school half terms and holidays. Grounds open at 11am. Open to all ages, everyone welcome. Take a moment out of your day, enjoy a peaceful walk in the grounds and see what wildlife you can spot. In our warm classrooms you can have a hot drink and drop into our relaxing free wellness workshops. Over the weeks this will include drawing, painting, clay modelling, creative writing and much more. We will have jigsaws and games available and plenty of time to chat and explore different arts and activities to help with feelings of calmness and creativity. Free Entry. Please note the house is closed for building works until May 2024.

Our People, Our Places: The Women Nail Makers 11-2:00pm. 30th June. To celebrate women nail makers of the past come and see our nail making demonstration and hear our talk on Mary McArthur who supported the women chainmakers' strike in the early 1900s. Tearoom open. Free Entry.

Soft Play Sunday: Sunday 7th July 11.00-2.00pm. Bring your little ones for a self-lead playtime in our classrooms with our soft play. Suitable for babies and toddlers. A lovely safe space and a perfect place to meet other parents. House, gardens and tea room open. Free Entry.

Oak House Archaeology Week: Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th July, 11.00-3.00pm 
Over three days Wolverhampton Archaeology will be excavating a small area behind the early 17th century house, looking for clues that will help us understand the history of the property.  Members of the public, including accompanied youngsters, will be encouraged to help dig and sieve the spoil and also follow the artefacts through a washing and identification process.  The house will be open and crafts, trails and other activities available.  Tea Room Open. Suitable for all ages. Free Entry - some activities from 50p.

Jazz Festival: Sunday 28th July open house open from 11am. gig at 2:30pm. Chick Wren’s Rollin’ River Band. Oak House Museum, Oak Road, West Bromwich, B70 8HJ. A collective of seasoned musicians delivering soulful, original renditions of blues, soul, R&B, and rock and roll classics. With years of experience, our band brings authenticity and musicianship to every performance. Outdoor gig if weather fin, bring a picnic chair or blanket and a picnic. The house is open from 11am for you to look around.

Archaeology Fun Day: Tuesday 30th July, 11.00-3.00pm. Join us for a fun day learning how to dig up and process finds. Analyse poos from the past and make some prehistoric pots. The house will be open and crafts and trails will be available for children.

Prehistoric Art: Wednesday 31st July, 11.00-3.00pm. Prehistoric art workshop. Create a picture from the past using natural materials.  All ages welcome.
