Regular Activities

Grounds Open Days: Every Wednesday in February and March. 1:00-4:00pm
Explore the grounds and enjoy our snowdrops and other winter flowers starting to emerge. Warm up with a hot drink in our tearoom. Please note that the house will not be open. Free entry, no need to book.

Craft Club: Every Wednesday 10:00-12.30pm (excluding school half terms and holidays). Bring your knitting and crochet projects or anything else you may be working on! We will have jigsaws and games available and throughout the coming months in some of the sessions we will explore different natural arts and activities to help with feelings of calmness and creativity! Open to all ages, everyone welcome. £1.00. No need to book.

Little Acorns Breastfeeding Network infant feeding drop-in support session. Every Wednesday 12.30pm – 2pm (excluding half terms). Drop-in support group creating a free, safe space for parents to meet other parents, ask questions and access evidence-based information on all aspects of breastfeeding/chest feeding and infant feeding for babies of all ages. Ideal For All Coffee Mornings: Every Wednesday 11:00-1:00pm. Ideal For All support the independence of disabled people living in Sandwell. These groups are an opportunity to have some social time with others in a similar situation to yourself. We run a coffee morning every week at Oak House for anyone who would like to catch up with old friends and make new ones. A friendly atmosphere where you will be welcomed with tea/coffee, biscuits and a smile. Free Entry.

Easter Holiday and Sprintime fun 

Easter Discos Tuesday 15 April 11:30am, 12:45pm and 2:00pm - Join Ron Popple for our Easter Discos – wear your Easter Bonnets and your Bunny Ears and show us your best moves! Three 45-minute sessions are available. £1.50. Easter Crafts and trails available. Enjoy refreshments in our tearoom and relax in our lovely grounds. House open to explore for all visitors, free entry. Booking will be available online for the disco.

Springtime fun! Tuesday 22 April 11:00-3:00pm – Join in with exciting outdoor games with Go Play and learn all about our local police heroes. Get to try on a police uniform and discover artefacts from the Lock Ups at Steelhouse lane. Springtime crafts and trails will be available. St George’s Day Wednesday 23 April 11:00-3:00pm - Come and see our knight in armour and learn about the real St George.

The Staffordshire Regiments at War. Sunday 4 May 12.00-1:00pm - Local men in our local regiments - where did they fight? What did they do? Find out about the contribution our parents, grandparents, neighbours and friends made to victory in World War II in a fascinating talk exploring both the day-to-day struggles of individual infantrymen as well as the strategic context of the battles and campaigns in which they took part. Free talk, no need to book.

Green Man Day Sunday 11 May 11:00-3:00pm. Celebrate with us at our annual Green Man event with historical music from Diabolus. Join in with the Sedgley Morris dancers, have a go at Tudor dancing with Gloriana and join in our parade to welcome spring with the green man himself! Lots of fun, games and activities for all ages, Enjoy refreshments in our tearoom and relax in our grounds. Why not bring a picnic! Oak House is open to explore, free entry.
