How do I apply? Log onto MySandwell and complete the housing registration form
What will prevent me from registering? There are several things can prevent you from registering to move including:
- Current or former rent arrears
- Breach of tenancy action being taken
- If you have secured your tenancy in the last 24 months through choice-based lettings and your circumstances have not changed
- Unacceptable property or garden condition
- You have a non-secure tenancy
How long will it take for my application to be registered? Following the receipt of application and all relevant proofs a timely decision will be made.
What proof do I need to provide? If your circumstances have changed since you have moved into your property we may require some proofs to be provided. Eg birth certificates and child benefit for additional children
What happens if I’m not eligible to register to move? You will be notified in writing that your application has been refused and the reasons why.
Will a visit to my property be carried out? A visit will be carried out between the time that you register for a move and being offered a property, this is to ensure that the condition of your property and garden are acceptable and your tenancy details are correct before you are offered a property.
How long will it take for me to move? The time taken to move will be dependant on a number of factors, including how long you have been registered, the type of property you are looking for and the areas you are looking for.
